Make a Difference in Less Than 30 Minutes
It doesn't take much to brighten someone's day. A warm smile, a hot meal, and a few minutes of your time can mean the world to a senior who lives alone. Our volunteers tell us that the hour they spend here is often the best part of their week — not because of what they give, but because of what they receive in return.
Since 1992, the St Maries Senior Meal Site has been a gathering place where neighbors become family. We serve meals on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon, and every extra pair of hands makes a difference.
What Volunteers Do
Serve Meals
Help plate and serve hot meals to our seniors. Each meal includes soup, a main course, dessert, and a beverage. It's simple work with a big impact.
Socialize with Seniors
For many of our guests, the conversation matters as much as the food. Sit down, share a story, and be a friendly face. Your company is a gift.
Help with Setup & Cleanup
Set tables, arrange chairs, and help tidy up after the meal. Many hands make light work, and every bit of help keeps our program running smoothly.
More Than Just Serving a Meal
Our volunteers come for different reasons — to give back, to stay active, to feel connected. But they all say the same thing: the smiles and gratitude they receive are worth more than anything they could give. There is something special about sitting down with someone who has lived a full life and hearing their stories.
